TRUST the Process
In the gallery: February
TRUST the Process is a student exhibit featuring the artwork of 40 students from Ecole Secondaire Beaumont Composite High School. The artwork is varied, ranging from charcoal portraits of beloved pets to wildly imaginative, original mixed media pieces. Styles range from realism to abstraction with a healthy middle ground. The students express their worlds, ideas, and dreams through these pieces.
The high school art room is a unique place. It is a place where we balance hours of sometimes tedious, hard work with investigative artistic play; where we translate observation and ideas into creative expression through tangible visual media. It is an environment where perfectionist students learn to loosen up and broaden their sense of success; where students that rush work learn to buckle down and apply greater craftsmanship. It is a space where students can relax and appreciate the soothing sensation of their hands on real materials like pencil, paper, paint, or clay. It is an environment where students can be themselves and develop their voices.
This exhibit is a testament to the perseverance and creative vision of the grade 10, 11, and 12 Art students from ESBCHS. Exhibited alongside student artworks are mixed media paintings by their teacher, Melissa Baron.
